BIO
The music of the 60s casts a mighty shadow – so formidable, in fact, that bands have a pretty tough time escaping it. Which is a blessing for anyone within earshot of Drug Rug, a Boston-based vintage pop duo that owes a sizeable debt to many a proto-punk, many a flower child, and many a Beattle. Keen on the Everly Bros, The Velvet Underground, The Byrds, and Paul & Linda’s righteous RAM, Thomas Allen and Sarah Cronin create the sort of stuff music writers like to call “timeless.” But listen to Day I Die and Winter Time below, and you’ll see why.
With the blog world buzzing, a Spin.com Artist of the Day under their belt, some NPR adoration in tow, the Rug will take their show on the road come mid-January, criss-crossing the States on a month long tour that finds them hitting every corner (well ¾ ain’t bad) of the map.
